There are certainly challenges with AI, but the PURPOSE of using AI is to make a service more efficient, effective and to cut costs. It provides competitive advantage and will be able to pinpoint potential sales and market effectively to different customer segments. We have already witnessed this on Instagram and Facebook, where products you are likely to buy, because of your known preferences, are advertised directly to you. Many of these products are actually things or servuces you want. So it is useful. Because of all these factors, the idea of the codes and algorithms being ‘transparent’ in a cooperative open environment is cloud Cukooland! Companies are competitive, forever trying to get an edge over competition. That is how progress is achieved. So what is actually needed is boundaries to code, where algorithms cannot allow AI practices which harm or steal. It is also necessary for programmers to have a clear view of how and why AI has come up with the code and solution to a problem that it has: a logic trail of thinking behind each invention of new code. AI can produce the code and solutions very quickly, but we humans have to be able to understand the thought process in simple language, or explained in clear mathematics.
