Working with values is something I am passionate about for several main reasons;
Having trained facilitators in Values Based Leadership for the last 8 years, every time I am pleasantly surprised by the feedback, not just when these certified facilitators were running their groups at work, in their communities or within their family and friends circle, but also the impact it continually has on themselves!
We, at Ki Leadership Institute, where both my wife and I are Values Based Leadership Specialists, usually train groups from several to over a hundred people at a time.
Some months ago however, I was asked by a client if I would be willing to take him through values on a 1-on-1 basis, which I agreed.?
I introduced him to the training, and we decided on the 6 basic human values which we already use as part of facilitator training, with 2 additional values after completion of those first six.
These sessions, which between 2 people, should last no longer than 20-30 minutes, became hour long sessions as there were many questions and insights by the client which every week started to impact him more.?
I continued on this path by asking questions related to the value in his life and business and noticed that my coaching skills became an important part of his amazing progress.?
Of course, he brought his A-Game to the table every week and implemented the action steps he set for himself, which made it an absolute pleasure to work with this client, as with any other, who will do what is required to make that all important difference in their lives.

After 6 weeks, the client picked another 2 values from a list of 48 he wanted to work through in the same way.?
8 weeks of Values Based Coaching, made such a difference in his life that he immediately signed up for another 8 weeks with new values which are already building on the personal growth he, and those around him, have clearly noticed and comment on.
I firmly believe that values are THE foundation of life, business, and your social environment. To better understand basic human values and use those as all important stepping stones, will pay handsome dividends in all areas of your life.

2 年Sad but true - in most countries the there is no real leadership. We need to stop and ask the question when and how did this happen. I think its because people vote for people they like - not what the mandate of the party is. It's time for change, so lets face these governments head on and say enough is enough, lets take our lives back.
