In fact, the warehousing industry has continued to be affected by prevailing warehousing trends.

From Godowns to Modern Warehouses

The Indian Warehouse of the earlier times was managed as Godown. Storage Units were practically missing and there was no assurance of the safety of the inventory from increasing number of thefts and other attributes. The transportation of the goods from the godowns to the retailers and factories involved using trucks and Lorries and lacked adequate technology for tracking the shipment.

Lost and Damage of Goods was Popular Phenomenon

The warehousing industry was waiting for the much needed upgradation in the entire infrastructure. The rapid industrialization coupled with the rise of ecommerce companies at that time, there was a requirement of a best-in-class ecosystem in the country. This brought the birth of Modern Warehousing facilities wherein quality, amenities and safety were a priority. APML played a key role in defining and building the modern warehousing industry through its A+ Grade Warehouses located on national highways, which are far from being just the storage and distribution solutions. The immense road connectivity of our warehouses enabled us to ensure smooth operations and sustainable state-of-the-art facilities to our dedicated clients.

Industrial revolution has ignited the Demand of Warehousing Facilities

While businesses all over the globe are impacted by technological advancement in every sector, the industrial revolution itself has had an immense impact on the emerging logistics sector. Ever-growing digitalization has also led to supporting infrastructure in warehouses today. Most of the processes have been digitized which means many aspects in warehousing are positively impacted including security management, inventory control and reliability, transport, workplace environment and sustainability, to name a few.

Furthermore, the present industrial scenario is marked by logistics processes using technologies like automation and artificial intelligence to meet their needs that makes it a must to incorporate in modern warehousing facilities. Previous decade has observed the Indian warehousing and logistics industry transform from an unorganized to an organized industry, and the upcoming decade will see even more technological disruptions in the process of continuous evolution.
