Transformation Tuesday
I'm so excited about Transformation Tuesday that I wanted to get it started on Monday.
Do you have a pen, paper, and 2 seconds? Perfect, then you have time on this "chaotic" day to plant the seeds of transformation. Are you too busy to find 2 seconds or too successful and don't feel you need to change? No bid deal, transformation is waiting for you when you are ready.
Write down every negative thought that crosses your mind. I mean everything. Write down every time you judge yourself, think you are unworthy, or incapable. Write down every time somebody says something negative to you and you believe them. Write down the thoughts in your head you are too embarrassed or ashamed to talk about. Nobody but you needs to see this, so be as open and honest as possible.
At the same time make a list of all the positives you hear, think, or say during the day. Every time you praise yourself for a job well done, every time someone compliments you, anytime you say or think a positive thought.
At the end of the day, add it up. Are your thoughts more positive or negative? The first time I did this exercise I also almost fell out of my chair. Even though I pretended to be happy and positive to world, it became clear that I was hiding behind a mask of positivity when in reality the majority of my thoughts were negative and/or self-deprecating.
No wonder I was in a rut. No wonder every day seemed like punishment. No wonder I wasn't satisfied with life. No wonder I had to suppress my feelings. My thoughts were out of control and I let the opinion of others affect how I viewed myself. I was in a prison of negative thoughts that I created and I was the only one with the key.
We are quick to blame others for becoming disempowered, but in reality the source of disempowerment comes from within. The more we blame others for it, the longer it will take for us to break free.
Try this for just one day and see for yourself how positive or negative you are and adjust your inner voice accordingly. The connection between your satisfaction in life is directly related to the thoughts in your head.
Take back control.
Don't know how, don't know where to start, or not ready to transform. That is OK, reach out when the time is right or when questions arise.
