The Transformation of Our Elevation: Closing Janu-worry with Hope

The last week of January is here—a time to reflect on the transformation we’ve undergone. Janu-worry, as many call it, feels like the longest "year" in the month. It’s a time when life’s challenges magnify, urging us to confront the old and make room for the new. This discomfort—the unease of change—is much like the Ugly Duckling Story, where transformation begins in the most unexpected and uncomfortable of places.
I’ve lived my own Ugly Duckling tale, and I’d love to share it with you:
My Honeybee Story of the Ugly Duckling
Once upon a fuck, a unique child acted like a duck.
No matter what “it” did, this ugly duckling could not fit in.
It yearned to belong, but no one sang its song.
It was always told what to do and monitored in every room.
Freedom was an illusion, and so was its constitution.
The older it became, it had to learn to rewrite its new name;
For years, it was put to shame, and it was always a blame game.
No one cared about their actions and how their words affected the duckling bear.
So it learned to quack-quack and always landed on destinations that weren’t fair.
Oh, but the ugly quack-quack was never a duck.
It was just the community that disregarded its own luck.
Years go by, and the ugly quack-quack looks down at a pond,
Only to see that it is a beautiful swan.
After years of searching and its need for belonging,
The weird quack-quack went within.
It swam in so much adversity it mastered the art of sin.
After all that pain, the swan rose again.
She became a new vibe and attracted a new tribe.
It was a tribe called “Quest,” and oh yes, she was truly blessed.
The End.
This story is more than just a poetic reflection; it’s a testament to the power of transformation. Like the swan in the story, January has been a month for swimming through adversity and rediscovering our strength. While the process may have felt ugly, uncomfortable, or even unfair, it’s brought us closer to seeing the beauty of who we truly are.
Now, as January comes to an end, the best is yet to come. February and beyond hold opportunities for growth, joy, and belonging. The lessons we’ve learned this month will carry us forward, helping us rise like the Phoenix, transform like the swan, and elevate into the truest versions of ourselves.
The transformation of our elevation doesn’t stop here. The rest of the year is waiting for you to shine, thrive, and embrace every possibility. The best is yet to come—believe it, live it, and claim it.
With love and transformation,
Bianca Thusi
