Transformation I.D.E.A

Be it a Software, Political party, Multiplex building, Brand, Service or Reputation of a celebrity…………… One common thread among all of them is the "Need to stay ahead of competition"… and in order to stay ahead of competition everyone need to transform…

It’s simple but not easy to transform. This require a commitment and set of rules to transform. In the context of business transformation as per experience shared during interviews conducted by VALT Consulting with 43 CEO’s and 8 promoters, only 23% organizations are successful in driving a transformation process i.e meeting desired increase in productivity & Market share, Optimizing operating costs and building talent.

Here are few of my thoughts (as per interaction with these CEOs and promoters) to answer the key question i.e What’s the core Transformation IDEA?

1.???Identify the Objectives: This require a collective thinking to identify existing issues and possible solutions in a cross functional team facilitated by an experienced Transformation leader.

Precaution: Focus on actual performance gaps where we are not able to differentiate ourselves from competition or not bale to pace with changing trends

2.??Define the path: This path i.e "Core Strategy" need to be mapped against existing processes vs expected outcome defined in previous step i.e objectives.

Precaution: This path should be visible and easy to understand by the front line executives.

3.??Execution norms: A great strategy need to be executed with measurable KPI and monitored in a given time frame with speed

Precaution: Stay committed to bigger goal, many times we declare success & failures too early

4.??Anchoring: Every project lead need to anchor the transformation process by coaching, guiding, correcting behaviours and taking decisions as appropriate to ensure smooth execution without gaps

Precaution: Timely identification, Development and correction of Behavioural issues
