Transformation Highlights Issue #62

#betterbizculture?Highlights

This week--and always--we're looking at ways to create #betterbizculture with two articles our team thought were most relevant for the week from our Transformation Insights newsletter. If you would like to receive the full set of articles delivered directly to your inbox each month, we invite you to?subscribe.

Who owns the space? The people or the platform?

It will be interesting to see how this plays out between Freedom of Speech and censorship. I am definitely in favor of the right of all people to be able to voice their views, but I can also see the argument for not having views that cause conflict within a pseudo-private space. There also appears to be a grey space between automated moderation and the role of human moderators provided by the platform and provided by the group owning the space (which could often be an organization). #betterbizculture

Put down the phone and slowly back away

This is probably generally true for most social media and affirms my decision to stop being active on X. After the pandemic I greatly reduced the time I spend on social media and am not sure that I feel like I'm missing out on much but I do feel some FOMO once in a while when there is an event going on--which as I think about probably is not good for my mental #wellness, so perhaps another reason not to be on social media during events. #betterbizculture

Cybersecurity Highlights

The following article focuses on #cybersecurity issues and caught our team's attention from our Cybersecurity Insights newsletter. If you are interested in receiving more articles like this directly to your inbox each month, we encourage you to subscribe to Cybersecurity Insights newsletter.

To err is human... apparently

I concur with the findings that people are often the weakest link in #cybersecurity. This is especially true for small businesses, nonprofits, and #accountingfirms that may not have as strong cybersecurity technology. Raising awareness of cybersecurity risks and how to spot them is essential for all sizes of organizations. #managerisk
