Transformation Highlights - Issue 49 - Holiday Edition

#wellbeing?Highlights

So, what is the secret sauce to being happy?

I have been applying these four pillars of happiness for over a decade and agree with their foundational effect on happiness. The only one that I would modify a little is "Live in the moment." I believe that we need to have a vision and a plan for the future, but I do agree that we need to be more present in what is currently going on, not living in the past or worrying about the future.?#selfmanagement?#selfcare?#wellbeing?

But nobody has increasing demands this time of year, right?

I am definitely feeling these increasing demands and need to apply these mindsets more to help prevent burnout. #selfawareness?#betterbizculture? #wellbeing

Our Center Community has fantastic thought leaders and, occasionally, we like to share their comments and posts in Transformation Highlights. This week, we are sharing posts from two of our top contributors to the Personal Resilience space, Amber Setter and Texlin Usher-Quinney. Enjoy!

Amber Setter, PCC

The holiday season is upon us, and we’ve all likely already started all the festive parties and fun get-togethers. While it is a beautiful time of year, it is also one of the most stressful, especially for those whose calendars fill up fast. That’s one reason I really like this article, which is a great reminder to create a less stressful holiday by prioritizing yourself. #personalresilience #selfcare #wellbeing

Texlin Usher-Quinney, Ph.D., PMP, CPA

I agree 100% with asking coworkers how they are doing and meaning it. This is why I make a conscious effort to connect with everyone on my team. In doing so, they help me more than I help them. Even though it's from 2019, this article is still relevant today [and even more so around the end of year or holidays], as it points out the importance of connection with those you work with and how checking in with each other can go a long way. People have to know you’re genuine. Intent matters. #support #personalresilience #selfcare #wellbeing #betterbizculture #transformaccounting

The Disruptors: Heather Satterley: You've Got to Meet People Where They Are

I enjoyed listening to this podcast with Heather Satterley, CPA, and Liz Farr. They highlight a lot of the changes that are still to be made to #transformaccounting, especially by smaller tax and bookkeeping firms, and I agree with their recommendations wholeheartedly.

Technology This Week, by?Rick Richardson, CPA, provides an easy-to-read digest of the technology that tax and accounting practitioners need to know to serve their clients better. Each week, our team will choose one of Rick's posts to share from the world of Technology.
