Transformation and the fascinating journey through Implementation, Adoption and Adaption

As said by Charles Darwin, "It is not the strongest nor the most intelligent of species that survives, but the one that is most adaptable to change."

When an organization is set on a journey of systematic change, from the current state to a desired one, it encounters multiple resistance, primarily due to doubts and reluctance of its employees. Whether it is for a new technology or for a new process, the project success is pretty much governed by the successful adoption.

However, adoption can be termed successful only when employees adapt to it. As even after adopting and embracing the change, employees may have few conspicuous or, sometimes, inconspicuous behavioral or operational resistance, which may take painstakingly long time to overcome.

As per change experts, few of the suggested means to ensure smoother and faster adaption are: ?

·?????? Conviction of the change agents/ leaders: To be able to inspire and to build trust, leaders must come across as completely sold to the idea and the outcome of the change.

?·?????? Effective communication: Majority of the people fear change, doubting how the change will impact them. A clear and continuous communication can address their doubts, getting them more focused and engaged.

?·?????? Skill training: A lot of resistance come due to lack of skill or confidence in the employees. A thorough skill gap analysis and the required training to bridge the gap can boost the morale of the employees.

?·?????? Identifying and incentivizing the early adapters: Going by the Law of Diffusion normally 1 out of every 6 people come under the category of innovators or early adapters who embrace change. Conviction of such people work like a catalyst in the system, attracting many more.

?·?????? Creating quick wins: Early and compelling stories around how project is moving towards the desired outcome and how it is for the betterment of the organization, do a world of good to many contemplating minds.

?Weather it is to enhance performance and productivity or to improve organizational culture, change is inevitable to propel an organization towards success. We are living in a world where Change is the only Constant, so, instead of resisting, why not to embrace it.

Keen to learn about your change and transformation experience, I am happy to assist, and collaborate with you for your next transformation journey.
