Transform Your Life One Step At A Time
Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed at the mere thought of what it may take to transform our lives. We may know who we wish to be or where we would like to go. We may dream of the perfect life for ourselves and see others living that life.
If we are not living the life we wish to live then we will have many excuses. Maybe some are valid, but even the poorest of the poor or the loneliest of the lonely, the most uneducated person can always improve themselves in one way or another.
Transformation starts with changing just one thing. It is about forming a habit and sticking to it. I know of a man who was a heavy smoker for many years. He was very thin and very weak in his body and he had a few health issues. He just couldn't give up his habit, until one day he ended up in hospital with a serious condition that forced him to change his habits. He decided his health and his family were most important so he chose to make a change. In order for him to quit smoking, he had to change his daily routine. He used to always travel the same direction and drink coffee and smoke at the same cafe every day. When he decided to finally quit smoking, he intentionally made the choice to travel a different direction and go to a different cafe. He avoided being around people who would smoke. Today he is much healthier and much happier. His financial situation has even improved immensely.
We all have habits we don't like. Maybe we are too lazy to exercise or we have a poor diet. Maybe we have a character flaw which affects our employment prospects. Whatever it is, transformation is not difficult. All it takes is an act of the will, a determination to change and to just start somewhere. Do something different. Stick to it. Create a new habit. That new habit will become part of who you are.
