Transform

Transform

What’s your response to change? Because our brains generally view change as a threat – especially when it’s not initiated by us – it’s wired to keep us safe through one of 3 instinctual responses: fight, flight, or freeze.

But I want to offer up an alternative: transform. Yup, that’s another word for change. And yes, what I’m suggesting is the possibility of change as a response to change. We can all agree that change is constant, whether we like it or not. So why not choose to transform rather than have it dictated?

Choosing the option to transform is not about sugar-coating the pain and discomfort that may come with the change. It’s about putting ourselves in a position to constantly learn and grow through every season of change. It’s being able to shift our perspective so that we are able to bend, move, and adapt to the change. That will shape the person you & I become when we come through on the other side.

What’s your opportunity to transform?

Love this article! Something to think about for sure. I was just talking to my students this morning about "change". Thanks for posting!
