Transform Interest Into Opportunity

Transform Interest Into Opportunity

Today, I have some strategies to share with you about turning interest into opportunity.

I’m sure many of you are actively engaging in networking, whether it's attending personal development events, networking gatherings, or simply meeting new people in your community. In these interactions, you often find yourself in a position where someone expresses curiosity or interest in what you do. However, seizing these opportunities isn't always straightforward.?

I’m sharing today’s wisdom from one of my friends Chris Tuff, in his book "Save Your Asks," which emphasizes the importance of recognizing when to make the ASK. He describes a concept called the "ask continuum," where asking too often or too soon can backfire, but not asking soon enough means letting the opportunity slip away.

Some Action Steps to Turn interest into Opportunity:

  • Be Assertive: When someone expresses interest, take the lead in initiating the next steps.
  • ?Schedule Follow-Up: Don't wait for opportunities to come to you; actively schedule follow-up discussions or meetings to explore potential collaborations.
  • ?Focus on Relationships: Prioritize building genuine relationships, but don't hesitate to ask when the timing is right.

Once you have followed the simple steps above, the next thing to do is to make sure you ask the right questions.

Here are 5 questions you can ask when someone shows interest in your business or in what you are doing:

  1. When can we schedule a follow-up conversation to discuss this further?
  2. ?How do you envision [the service/product you offer] benefiting your [business/organization]?
  3. ?Are there any specific challenges you're facing that [your service/product] could help address?
  4. ?Have you considered incorporating [the service/product you offer] into your current strategy?
  5. ?What goals are you hoping to achieve in the near future?

Remember, the key is to make it easy for the right people to say yes and take that next step. So don't hesitate to assertively invite them to engage further.

I hope you don’t let opportunities pass by. Instead, start showing up, asking questions, and networking with the right people. As always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need support along the way.
