Sports commentators make all kinds of claims and predictions, but to be successful in the sports commentator business, you do not have to be right, you just need to be relevant.??

Similar conclusions can be drawn of the OECD (at least, their international tax/transfer pricing initiatives).? The OECD (and the guidelines they promulgate) do not have to be right – they just have to be relevant.

That is not intended as a pejorative statement.? The work of the OECD to draw consensus, move conversations forward, and bring stakeholders to a common table is important.

But while the OECD, like sports commentators, are certainly trying to be “right”, they ultimately just need to be relevant.?
