Transfer Fear to Fuel

Using Negative emotions as Motivation....

To live a life by Design, not by default

We all have been led by emotions more than once, but how many times have our emotions been led by what we grew up hearing or seeing, what seemed true in our youth (not necessarily correct as adults), or by social media depicted?


I did....

I wish my younger self could have recognized better that what I hear as a kid was vastly different from reality. How I processed things, thought I could do and how I reacted to things/people and comments. The younger self-conscious, didn't know who we really were or who God created us to be, versions of out now self.

So what changed for you?

What flipped the switch?

To utilize Negative emotions as a Motivator...

Emotions are something that either Motivates or Negates you....

When you are excited about something, something that you believe in, that will bring value to you and others lives....like starting a podcast, writing a book, starting a nutrition or coaching business.

They bring value, it's exciting and you know you will enjoy (regardless of the hours and work involved).

But Fear and Anxiety moves you to hide or act aggressively to the person or situation. Keeping you from a possible experience, the opportunity to fail forward and understand the process of "I really want to do that, but it's not my strong point".

When you can use your fear or anxiety as a powerful motivator.... that can encourage perseverance. Moving you from fearful 2 Amped! Utilizing your fear as motivation vs a roadblock for an Amped life and it opens the opportunity for growth!

So, maybe it's skydiving, starting a new exercise program (heck just walking into a gym can be intimidating), writing a book or starting a podcast, asking for a promotion or stepping away from the J.O.B to go full into your passion (side hustle).. I challenge you to look at how your emotions are directing your thoughts and actions (and why).

I tell my clients all the time, if it was easy everyone would do it, but to live an Amped Life you have to know your weakness in order to strengthen them and grow!

Fear of Workingout?

  • Fear of Judgement. Someone who's new to a gym might feel like they're being stared at or judged while they're exercising on the gym floor. Remember We All Start at Ground 0. Check out your options in your area- local civic center might be more comfortable, or working with a personal trainer in a personal setting or small group setting
  • Fear of Choosing the Wrong Gym - stop by some local gyms at the ideal times you would workout and see how crowded, the vibe you get, the overall atmosphere and types of weights and equipment. (no gym is the same)
  • Fear of Not Knowing Where to Start- ask about trainer support options at the gym and talk to them (not every trainer is good and if you aren't comfortable talking with them, then it's a no -regardless how great the offer sounds). Look at remote coach options to construct the program for you and removes the thinking process for you (www.ampedlifestyle.com ) . Work with a personal trainer 1-on -1 for a bit to get comfortable with things, work on mechanics and understand what you should feel and focus on before heading to the gym.
  • You are Never "to old" to start.... look for programs and groups that would be more engaging for you! Last fall I took a leap of faith and started a Functionally Fit 50+ group session for those who were retired or close. Knowing that many have worked their lives for a fun, adventurous retirement- only to find that things aren't working so good and their balance, core strength and mobility suck! Therefore traveling, golf, simple things like playing with grand kids were not going as well as planned.
  • Either way.... don't allow someone's looks or arrogance to rob you of your healthy, stronger life!
