TCM400 Monitor
The TCM400 Monitor is a transcutaneous oxygen tension (TcPO2) monitoring device. Non-invasively provides accurate, quantitative information about oxygenation and perfusion to assist in the assessment and management of vascular diseases. The single-monitor offers six TcPO2 measurements in real-time.
Early TCPO2 diagnosis of peripheral ischemic disease in diabetic patients
The transcutaneous oximetry [RCPO2] the accredited examination for the assessment of skin perfusion
This method is recommended for the measurements of skin perfusion in patients with PAD and diabetes.
The TCPO2 is directly correlated with the arteriolar perfusion of the skin. in the normal subject, the TCPO2 values are between 70-80 mmHg throughout the limb, with values similar to those of the reference point of saturation of systemic oxygen.
Diabetes and PAD
The peripheral arterial disease [PAD]in patients with diabetes is greatly accelerated and occurs with specific characteristics; preference for medium and small caliber arteries, lower prevalence of claudication due to the high pain threshold, and a sedentary lifestyle typical of most diabetics and increased frequency of ulcers and amputations.
In patients with diabetes, the radiation?of arterial disease in some cases cannot be done by measuring the ABI index for the incompressibility of tibial vessels.
The severity of peripheral arterial disease in diabetes can be assessed by measurements of skin perfusion. we can divide the diabetic patients with PAD into two main categories;
1- patients with claudication or rest pain without skin lesions
2- patients with skin lesions
the measurements of transcutaneous oximetry must be always performed; with some differences
