Transcendent Leadership
Elijah Alexander
Maturing as a professional is understanding you should always remain true to who you are.
Can we be real for just a moment without speaking for political correctness or to coddle the feelings of others? Sure we can, and this is beginning of transcendent leadership. Not everyone is cut out for this nor is everyone ready or willing to receive the wave of transformation that comes with this type a leadership.
A true transcendent leader does not carry respect of persons or titles but a respect of absolute truth. This is why if you have good parental leadership or knew a great mentor you understand the term tough love. These people who changed your lives were not concerned with your feelings but rather disseminating the entire truth in such a way you could personally understand and benefit from.
Too many people in leadership positions today are far too concerned with saving face, impressing others, or climbing the ladder rather than doing the real work that needs to be done. This work is to expose the truth and take the steps that need to be done in order to benefit the entire group or meet the objective at hand.
Transcendent leaders create change because they are not concerned with what people think of them rather they only concern themselves with what is true and what needs to be done for the greater good of the whole. Without transcendent leaders of the past minorities would not be afforded many of the opportunities they have today, technological advances would be slowed, and the same people who have been "doing it this way for years" would still be in positions of power to the detriment of society at whole.

So assess yourself. Ask, "Am I willing to look past my own desires? Am I willing to tell the truth at all cost? Will I make the changes that are necessary for the benefit of the majority? Do I deserve this leadership position or do I need to work on my leadership abilities? Leadership is necessary though not everyone is cut out to be in a leadership position because of their job experience or academic accolade. True leadership comes down to character, humility, integrity, and the disposition of always standing on truth no matter what.
