Welcome back to Reshaping Multilateralism, a newsletter from the team at the Nexus25 project. Every month, we bring you the latest from the climate-security-migration nexus, with a particular focus on how to make multilateralism work for everyone - not just the Global North.?
This month, the Nexus25 team pivoted to the future of the transatlantic relationship, taking stock of the June elections in the European Parliament, closely tracking snap elections, and preparing for the 75th annual NATO Summit. While Labour’s landslide victory in the UK and the surprising French rejection of the far-right offer glimmers of hope for the global climate agenda, the U.S. elections (and a potential second Trump term) continue to hang over policymakers on both sides of the Atlantic.?
To discuss these elections and challenges ahead, Nexus25 co-lead and Istituto Affari Internazionali Director Nathalie Tocci facilitated the next episode of the “Reshaping Multilateralism” podcast, sitting down with Mr. Tony Agatha, the EU’s Principal Advisor on Climate Diplomacy; Dr. Ricardo Borges de Castro, a Senior Adviser to the European Policy Centre; and Dr. Heather Grabbe, a senior fellow at Bruegel and visiting professor at University College London and KU Leuven.
