Think about all times you make a payment...You’re probably thinking "This is not going to happen to me, in Timisoara we are more protected from credit card fraud than in other parts of the world", but here’s a story of a guy from Iasi that might get you to think twice.
But this happens also in our city. At the beginning of the year, in Timisoara, at one of the ATM's in the Business Center area a skimming device was installed and a friend of mine was informed by the bank that they have to block his card and issue a new one because his card was skimmed.
So you may never know if this is going to happen to you or not... but you know Murphy's laws... It's probably better not to talk about it...
But here’s some good news - there are ways to prevent fraud! This weekend at HackTM FinTech we bring forward some innovative ideas in the fraud prevention domain. Let’s be smarter than the fraud attackers, so join in for one of ACI’s projects, and let’s make it happen!
Build a Transaction Ledger app that allows the user to confirm or reject each transaction the bank processes. Prior to completing any transaction this will allow you to make sure that your bank account has not been corrupted and that the transaction details are correct and in sync with data stored on your device.
See you there!

6 年Hi Alina. You know that "feedback is a gift". Following this logic, I recommend you to revise the text, as it contains quite a lot of grammar mistakes. I advise a peer review from someone with solid grammar skills in english, before posting. In current shape, the message you want to get across, is heavily diluted. Take care.
