How do you communicate the real value of doing business with you?
If you are still doing work that you don't want to do for clients you dont particularly want to work with, then you have an ALIGNMENT problem.

This is the really tricky stuff no one tells you about when you decide to go out on your own.? It's really difficult to communicate what is 'better' or 'different' about you and your firm.?
What makes you different from the rest of the crowd?
Why should potential clients choose you (and just as significantly, why should they NOT choose you)??
So you put up a website and, out of necessity and a lack of anything else to say, use the same empty phrases that everyone else does...?
The problem with that (however true and relevant it may be) is that it doesn't really mean much when everyone is saying it.? Plus, those are just the most basic qualities everyone expects as standard.
AND it doesn't describe WHY or HOW working with you is any different or better.
What happens is that you end up becoming "just another lawyer" in a very competitive market where genuine Trust is everything.???
You wouldn't imagine that Lawyering and Photography-ing are so similar, but I struggled with the EXACT same thing for a long time in my own business.???
Even though I KNEW deep down that I had something special to offer my clients, I was still 'just another photographer'. It turns out it has absolutely nothing to do with the industry you're in and everything to do with ALIGNMENT.
I was attracting a lot of the wrong people who just didn't fit with me or my business because I wasn't able to communicate my own difference...??
But sometimes I got lucky and it was really, really great!?? Whenever I was working with a client who was a perfect match, I could feel the difference.

And the visual outcomes I could get for clients who were the right fit was astounding.
So I set about trying to fix my Alignment problem.
I soon realised that I hadn't even tried to define my own value for myself!? So there was no way I could describe it to others. Through sheer desperation and force of will, I eventually uncovered my own very specific and fully-aligned set of qualities that really sets me apart.?
From there I found a way to articulate my approach that I can now describe to clients WITHOUT EVER feeling icky or insincere.
And now these qualities - when communicated properly - ensure I'm working with the right clients (and team) every. single. time.
