The Traits of Good Humans

The Traits of Good Humans

Skied this morning. Few things better than snow, mountains, nature and great conversation with good people. Which brings me to “The Traits of Good Humans”…

…I’ve been very blessed to be surrounded by some exceedingly good people who have influenced me deeply, affected me beautifully and inspired me radically.

In my ongoing spirit of doing my best to serve you and your finest life, I’ve deconstructed some of what I’ve observed:

#1. Good Humans Have a Cause.

It could be to be the most valuable teacher at the school or the most helpful ski instructor on the slope. But they have identified a purpose that focuses their days. This makes them productive, energetic and heroic.

#2. Good Humans Play The Long Game.

They build relationships. They give more than expected. They know that when they deliver ridiculous value, amazingness is their reward. Very little scarcity thinking in these people. Very much generosity.

#3. Good Humans are all about the capitalization of their potential.

I had a ski lesson with my teacher yesterday-he’s been helping be get better for almost 10 years (we all need coaches). He encouraged me to go for my Level 2 ski instructor certification. “You don’t want to leave any potential on the table,” he said. Powerful words.

#4. Good Humans Are Connected.

People who are fully functioning understand that we are all connected. Great science now confirming this. But the larger point is we are all members of a greater tribe. To treat everyone you meet with decency, dignity, kindess and love is only to deepen your relationship with the world. And please also consider: only people in pain can create pain for others.

#5. Good Humans Have Drive.

They get that progress breeds happiness. And so they relentlessly optimize the important areas of their lives. They improve their mindsets + characters, their work and craft, their language and their production, their fitness and their families.

Please use this early portion of 2016 to make some new choices that will wire in to some new results. You owe this to yourself?—?and those who love you.

I’d like to see the world become an even better place. You can help me. By growing yourself. And please know, I’m doing my interior work too.

Hope this helps. I’d love to read your thoughts on this post. Be great. I totally believe in you.

Your fan always,

Robin
