Training Tribal Staff: My passion
Willie Wolf M.P.A
Training and consultation to help your organization go from good to great
I used to do Tribal trainings in public locations like Las Vegas and Reno. These are two of the most popular sites and Tribal people like to go there. What I did not like about it was there were too many distractions and often times people either did not show up or they left early. I got paid all the same but It did not seem very ethical to me. It was not feeding my soul so I formed my own company 25 years ago called Red Road Leadership Consulting
Since I own my own business now I can control where I go. As a result I only do onsite training which is far more cost effective for the Tribes and Tribal organizations and participants are far more engaged in the process.
Also, when I am on site I get to take some time to be part of the community. Often times people invite me into their homes for a meal. I remember having a King crab feast one time when I was training in Juneau, Alaska. I also get to attend ceremonies which are part of the Red Road that I and my family follow. And I get to go to basketball games on the rez and rodeos. So anyway you look at it it is a win/win.

I am a big believer in following your vision and while I may not make as much as others I love what I do. I also feel I am able to make more of a difference in the lives of those I work with, their organization and the Tribal community. First you heal yourself, then the family, then the organization and then the community. It is an inside out approach.

9 个月You are exactly correct. Too many distractions and no real takeaways for the attendees. I’m glad you are doing virtual learning sessions. ????????????
