Training keeps Autoquip ahead of the game

Technology within the automotive industry is ever changing. As new concepts and innovations are introduced to cars, vans, and lorries, garages and workshops have to invest in new equipment to service them. An example is the increasing popularity of electric and hybrid vehicles. With larger batteries situated predominantly to the rear of the vehicle, there comes a requirement for new lifts and equipment to ensure safer access for mechanics.

Autoquip has been supplying garage equipment to the industry since 1968 and, in that time, we’ve obviously seen massive technological advancements in the products that we supply. Which is why it’s so important that we ensure that our team is fully trained and accredited to the latest industry standards. Sitting back and resting on our laurels would mean that we wouldn’t be able to service the needs of our clients and that our team would potentially be operating unsafely. That’s not a good result for anyone.

As members of the Garage Equipment Association (GEA) our engineers must be a part of the GEA Engineer Accreditation Scheme. This scheme requires them to complete a re-accreditation exam every three years to show that they can still work competently. However, Autoquip have gone one step further and now all our engineers have also completed GEA training in installing and maintaining AC hydraulic in ground lifts. In fact, they are the first engineers in the country to have completed this accreditation! It’s always good to stay ahead of the game.

Safety is always our priority. We want our customers to feel secure in the knowledge that when our team are working onsite, they are fully trained and certificated to use all the equipment that’s supplied. As a result, our engineers also hold IPAF and PASMA certificates. This means that they have been trained and certified in the safe use of powered access equipment (such as moving work platforms) and mobile access towers (movable scaffolding). Ensuring that our team take health and safety seriously allows us to complete installations and maintenance efficiently and effectively, keeping everyone from the end customer to the businesses we work for happy.
