“If learners think it looks bad, you may have lost a good percentage of the battle in getting them to pay attention!"
Having done stand up training for close to 7 years, I've realized the importance of engagement = retention of learning.
But how can a trainer/facilitator/coach/presenter engage their audience?
- Be present at the moment?
- Be authentic, real & sincere?
- Be clear (with your purpose)?
You can have the best slides and tools, but if your values as a trainer/facilitator/coach/presenter isn’t right, you’re gonna have a lot of trouble engaging and ensuring their take away is fruitful.
It's easy to do up a clean set of slides and a beautiful set of tools but those values/traits is something that not everyone is able to master it so quickly.
What are your thoughts?
