Today, let us talk about BRIDGE. But, before we learn about it, let me give you today’s task of the day.
Take a blank piece of paper and draw a bridge of your choice. Ensure, your bridge is Strong, This BRIDGE of yours is going to teach you an important Trainer Tip of the day.
My Trainer’s BRIDGE stands for
B - Build Trust
R – Respect first
I – Involve All
D – Develop yourself first
G – Gamification
E – Easy to understand
B - Build Trust
Trust is the glue of life. It’s the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It’s the foundational principle that holds all relationships. -?Stephen Covey
Trust is the foundation stone in any relationship. Without trust a relationship just cannot exist. Whether it is a teacher or a student or a trainer or a trainee relationship, it must be built on grounds of Trust. Be mindful Trust takes time to build. As a trainer work towards building Trust with your people.
R – Respect first
“Respect is a two-way street, if you want to get it, you’ve got to give it.” R.G. Risch
As a trainer take the first step to respect your learners. The rest will follow. Make your learners always feel important. This calls for lot of courage and humility.

I – Involve all
Whether your room has one student or many uncountable numbers, involving all is the task one must learn to master. Through games or activities, breakout rooms or case studies. Find ways to involve every learner in the room.
D – Develop yourself first
Take time to read, study or learn something new each day. As I always say it, “A great trainer is first a great learner”.
G – Gamification
Ensure to find all possible ways to bring in games or activities or ice breakers in your session. Mind learns the maximum when all the senses are activated, and games are best ways to go that.?
E – Easy to understand
“If you can't explain it to a six-year-old, then you don't understand it yourself” Albert Einstein.
As trainers our basic task is to make information chewable and digestible. Find ways to explain your points in the most simplified manner. Find tools to simplify. Use a metaphor or analogy or a picture or a story or Mnemonics (as I used) to make sure the learner can relate and connect to the topic with ease.
Here is my BRIDGE of must have’s for a Trainer.?Let me know your thoughts
