Train Yourself to Be a Great Leader
Leadership is not something that people are born with, instead, it is an art that one cultivates during the journey. I have seen people taking responsibility for themselves and training themselves to be effective. This is my story as well.
I have learned a lot from my personal and professional experiences. Not that I was not fascinated with the fact that what are the things that take someone into leadership. But I knew it happens if you train your mind. So I settled on the point that I can train myself to become a leader. And especially train my mind to improve my leadership.
Here I am writing the three main things to take care of if you want to train your mind.
- Mindfulness
- Selflessness
- Compassion
Mindfulness means making a positive difference in the quality of leadership. A mindful leader cultivates focus, clarity, creativity, and serve others. It provides leaders the power to focus on the task at hand and be more productive. And not just this, it also provides the ability to be truly present with people, clients, and stakeholders. Mindfulness in leadership is a way of loyalty.
Selflessness in leadership is the opposite of ego-centeredness. Great leadership is not self-centered. It’s not about his recognition, it’s about service to a better cause. Be the one who is more concerned about the interests of his people than his own needs. This makes people around you feel inspired in their own personal worth. Be the one who makes others feel valued. I am always thoughtful about appreciating my teams for who they are what they do. I raise up announcements in the ProofHub announcement section, where I recognize them for their achievements and any of their efforts. It’s one creative way of engagement and making them feel valued.

A compassionate leader is the one who keeps in mind the well-being of his/her people. It is related to the qualities of sympathy and empathy. The leader always keeps his back and as a result trust grows. By being compassionate, means cultivating a deep understanding of things that are complex. It means being focussed.
Being a leader or training yourself to be great is one of the most challenging things in this world. Leadership is a choice and when you have chosen it, be the one your people will want to work with.

4 年As my point of view to be a great leader for others we need to be leader of our lives, to improve our lives, abilities and be concious about what you mention: "Great leadership is not self-centered. It’s not about his recognition, it’s about service to a better cause". Great article.
