A Message from Tyler

The only thing worse than training your employees and having them leave is not training them and having them stay. — Henry Ford, Founder, Ford Motor Company.

Months ago, although it seems like a recurring conversation, I received a call from a tenured and accomplished leader who noticed a number of symptoms of a bigger problem within their operations.? After assessing their current team dynamic and operations, the individual recognized a vacuum at the top, where the team lacked the leadership required to move the needle.??

Staff became stagnant within processes, communication between departments, and sticking to "the way things have always been done". Self-admittedly, the hiring manager discussed the organization’s lack of internal development, which had created a skills gap within their senior management team.?

Compounding this issue, the facility had a looming major project that would require additional support staff.? Sound all too familiar???

There isn’t a one size fits all solution, but continued education and training need to be embedded into the core of your daily operations. There are a range of effective strategies including cross-training, formal mentorship, apprenticeships, team development workshops, and ongoing performance management.?

This on-the-job training program combined with continued education through SUNY-Delhi has set the stage to help solve a critical problem in the market.
