Traditional TV Takes a Hit: Young Adults Ditch TV for TikTok and YouTube

Traditional TV viewing has taken a significant hit, with less than half of young adults (16-24) now tuning in each week. This demographic is spending more than three times as long each day watching video-sharing platforms like TikTok and YouTube.

But it's not just young people who are switching off. There's been a decline across various age groups, with only the over-75s showing a slight increase in traditional TV viewing.

Meanwhile, radio is experiencing a resurgence, with the highest number of weekly listeners in the last 20 years. Commercial radio is driving much of this growth.

I assume, none of this comes as a huge surprise to anyone and the continued development of smart TV's will only accelerate this through the older age ranges in the coming years.
