1. Olivier Lassagne is the new CEO at Mocoh.


Mocoh's management is in transition: Guy Hacking stepped down as CEO on 1 January 2025 and has handed over to Olivier Lassagne, who brings eight years' experience and strong leadership in Africa, while Guy will take up a new position within the Mocoh Group.

2) Félix Greenlagh has left Litasco for Gunvor


Félix Greenlagh, formerly a Senior Crude Oil Trader at LITASCO SA, joined Gunvor as a Senior Crude Oil Trader in January 2025.

3) Orim Energy appoints Davide Anghinoni


Orim Energy has strengthened its capabilities in European fuel oil trading by hiring senior trader Davide Anghinoni, who previously worked at Saras Trading's bunker desk in Geneva.

4) Roberto Castro promoted at Unimot


Roberto Castro has announced that he is now General Manager - COO at UNIMOT S.A., Geneva.

5) Litasco appoints Wilhelm von Schweinitz


Wilhem von Schweinitz is starting a new position as Senior Fuel Oil Trader at LITASCO SA

6) Jonathan Davody promoted at Kaskara Commodities

7) QaterEnergy appoints Francesca Di Cesare


Francesca Di Cesare has announced that she is starting a new position as Sr. Principal LNG Trader (Physical Trading) at QatarEnergy

8) BGN appoints Phinu Philip


Phinu Philip is starting a new position as Head of fuel - AG at BGN

9) DRW Holdings LLC appoints Dale Gibbard


DRW Holdings LLC is bringing on Dale Gibbard, who previously worked at Millennium Management LLC, to enhance its European commodities trading amid energy market fluctuations, sources say.


10) ING hires global head of TCF product in Swiss team expansion


With immediate effect, ING Switzerland has added Fabienne Jaggy Moriggi as global head of TCF products, expanding its trade and commodity finance (TCF) division.

NKG plans to open three regional offices starting in February 2025 to support operations in the Americas, Asia Pacific, and EMEA. These offices, under the direction of regional CEOs, will act as centres for market-specific strategic development and decision-making:


Americas: Nicolas Rueda Latiff, who is based in the United States, will be in charge of this area. He will draw on his wealth of expertise in Latin America and his successful time as CEO of the NKG firms in North America.


Asia Pacific: The operations will be run out of Singapore by Ruben Scholz, who will be leaving his role as Group COO at NG at the end of January.


Europe, the Middle East, and Africa: David M. Neumann, Group CEO, will continue to oversee these key regions from Hamburg for the time being.

Thomas Jackson, who was most recently Light Ends Trader with Onyx Commodities, has been hired by Trafigura in Geneva, as a Gasoline Trader.

13) In October 2024, Emeric Houache has joined Hartree Partners


Emeric Houache has joined Hartree Partners as a derivatives trader in Geneva. He was previously an Asset Back Cross-Commodity/Options Trader with ENGIE.

14) In October 2024, Mercuria Energy Trading appointed Steve Ilhan


The role of Global Head of Aluminium & Alumina Trading with Mercuria Energy Trading SA in Geneva, has been filled by Steve Ilhan, who was most recently Global Head of Iron Ore Trading with Trafigura in Singapore.


15) Trafigura appointed Thomas Mann


Thomas Mann, who was most recently an Associate at Macquarie Group, has been hired by Trafigura in Geneva, , as a Base Metals Trader.

16) ASTRA Bioplant Trading SA appointed Etienne Darot-Ligier


Etienne Darot-Ligier, who most recently served as Director, FOREX & Precious Metals with J. Safra Sarasin, has been appointed to the position of Energy/Oils Trader in Geneva, by Swiss biodiesel company ASTRA Bioplant Trading SA.

17) In December 2024, Radiant World appointed Adhitya Sethaputra


Adhitya Sethaputra who was previously Co-Head of Metals at IXM has been appointed to the position of Head of Refined Metals with Radiant World in Geneva, Switzerland.

18) Solaris Resources relocated its headquarters from Canada to Switzerland.


In January, Solaris Resources relocated its headquarters from Canada to Switzerland.

This: Solaris Resources, a new copper-focused company established its office in Zug, Switzerland, led by former Glencore copper specialist Matthew Rowlinson as CEO.

19) OceanEXL has relocated its headquarters from the UAE to Denmark.


Shipping and marine fuel trading company OceanEXL has relocated its headquarters from the UAE to Denmark, where it will serve as the center for all European shipping and trading operations.

20) Two of the top traders in Glencore’s aluminum department are leaving for Vitol and Mercuria


Two of the best traders in Glencore Plc's aluminum department are moving to Vitol Group and Mercuria Energy Group Ltd.


Sam Imfeld who has been a trader at Glencore for a long time in the aluminum and alumina team is going to work at Vitol in Singapore as reported by people who know about it.


Alumina trader Steven Rojas will start working at Mercuria later this year. Both of them were part of Robin Scheiner's team at Glencore where he oversees alumina and aluminum trading.
