Trading Back: 2024 Colts Mock Draft #1
Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Marvin Harrison Jr.; are the first three picks in the 2024 draft, and then it will be a crazy amount of randomness from there. There are 4 first-round caliber quarterbacks, a ton of great offensive linemen, and a wide range of game-changing offensive weapons.
The draft strategy for the Colts has almost always been an aggressive team when it comes to making deals, and I don't see 2024 being any different. Some game-changing players are currently mocked in the range of 10 to 16, that the team could elect to take: Brock Bowers, a versatile tight end from Georgia; Laiatu Latu, a mountain of a human that can play Edge or Interior Line; and Kool-Aid McKinstry, a quick-footed corner who has the potential to be one of the best defensive backs in football; however I decided it would be better to trade out of pick 15, for a haul including 3 second-round picks (one in 2025) and a fourth-rounder for pick 15. I traded back again from pick 39 to get picks 42, 108, and 130.
I didn't make any additional trades, and I made selections, solely based on the players I have watched, so I am sure there were some awesome players I missed, but here is my overview of who I took:
Pick 42 - TJ Tampa: A fast, lanky Corner from Iowa State, who is physical at the point of attack and has a good nose for the football. His physical ability will Wow! people at the combine, which will make this a great value pick to pair next to JuJu Brents.
Pick 46 - Byron Murphy II: It would be surprising to get Byron Murphy II outside the top 20, and I was able to get him with pick 46. His run defense is severely underrated and his pass rush skills are elite from the interior. His later quickness is tough to measure, but I anticipate the draft stock here to skyrocket after an impressive combine.

Pick 47 - Chop Robinson: Chop is a solid edge player who is well-equipped to handle versatile quarterbacks with a quick first step and a burst to chase down the fastest players. Injury history is one thing that has caused Robinson to slip on draft boards, but I think it's a matter of time before he takes the job over for Samson Ebukam or Tyquan Lewis.
Pick 82 - Roman Wilson: Speedy, athletic, and refined all describe Wilson's game as a receiver. If there was ever going to be a deep threat to just burn past the secondary it is Roman Wilson. Pairing him with Josh Downs, JT and Anthony Richardson is every Madden player's dream.
My goal is to make one of these a week, until the NFL Draft on April 25! If you have questions, comment below! Thanks for reading!
