Trade Facilitation Agreement
Last week concluded the first multilateral deal with World Trade Organization, WTO has obtained the two-thirds acceptance of the agreement from its 164 members needed to bring the TFA into force.
Currently there are excessive bureaucracy with Customs in all countries to move goods across borders, the TFA has provisions for expediting the movements between countries, release and clearance of goods, including goods in transit, supporting cooperation among customs and other authorities, the TFA will help to reduce trade costs in the globe.
Roberto Azevedo Director General of World Trade Organization said. “This is the biggest reform of global trade in a generation. It can make a big difference for growth and development around the world. Now working together we have the responsibility to implement the agreement to make those benefits a reality”
This is great for Mexico, this will help us to eliminate the red tape that currently prevail and simplify all process with new technologies, accelerate the clearance of goods and have better infrastructures in all our borders.
