Summerfruit Australia Limited (SAL) is the representative industry body for the Australian Stonefruit industry. SAL works with all parts of the supply chain, from production through to the consumer and seek to continually improve growers’ ability to provide a healthy, profitable and safe product for all consumers.
The Australian Stonefruit industry is experiencing significant growth providing the opportunity and necessity to further develop existing export markets as well as new markets. This exciting new role will play a major part in the future growth and development of the Stonefruit export sector.
Stonefruit Trade Development Manager will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of the Stonefruit Export Strategy, analyzing export needs and working with stakeholders to regularly review and update strategies and priorities for Stonefruit trade and market access development.
The Trade Development Manager will also develop business cases for new market access and market improvement for priority markets, work with DAWE and the Summerfruit Australia Ltd export committee – Summerfruit Export Development Alliance (SEDA), manage the annual export registration process in line with DAWE requirements, and provide leadership and support to industry through the export process, develop, implement and monitor a Communication & Stakeholder Engagement Plan, prepare articles for industry communication, facilitate workshops with stakeholders and work with the Data Analyst to ensure high quality market data reports.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of agricultural export management, relevant tertiary qualifications, strong leadership and strategic planning skills with experience in leading projects, a high level organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple activities concurrently and meeting deadlines.
The role is based in Melbourne and the successful candidate must be able to work and live in Australia permanently and will posses excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence across many and varied industry stakeholders, demonstrated ability to problem solve and develop solutions efficiently, along with strong time management, The ability to work independently, while also being a strong team member will also be important.
