Tracking my day in 30 Minute Blocks, Helping Others, Warning: Fozzie Bear is a…

Good morning my friends; the mountain top is preparing for our daily sunrise show. I’ve got my coffee ready and will be watching that beautiful yellow breast rise from the darkness bringing light to all. It’s about 6:00; it’s starting now; my guess is a 6:36 rise and shine of our sun.
So how was your day? I’m doing something this week that was spawned by my TAB board. We had one owner that was struggling with his new role after creating a leadership team. It made me stop and ask, “what is my job these days? Where do I spend my time?? I did this a year ago; I tracked one week of my life from the time I get up until bed, how did I manage each 30-minute block.
My first two days were filled with Zoom calls with our firm, clients, and prospects. I meet new strangers every day, I get many referrals, and I take everyone as if it’s my next best friend. I often don’t know who I’m talking to, having set the Zoom up a week or two prior, but I show up and then engage the other human in discussing who they are, not what they do.
Case in point, I checked my LinkedIn account and got this message from a young man. Hi Anson! I had an eye appointment with your friend, Dr. Kent Godfrey. After discussing careers, he told me I need to connect with you.
I am always looking to grow my knowledge and network, and he spoke very highly of you. I was not sure if he was blowing smoke or not, but he said you could help advance me in my professional life and let you know he referred me to you.
My reply was Oh, Hell, Yes, send an email to this address, and I’ll set up a Zoom. I have no idea what this man does; he is wearing a suit in his profile, which always makes me suspect. Kidding, I like suit wearers as much as my polo-wearing, t-shirt dawning people. I don’t judge a book by its cover, and neither should you.
My day started yesterday with a batch of soup that resonated with some and offended a few others; I find my writing is a 50/50 these days encouraging others who can’t have the voice I can share. Half the people privately message me, and others, those woke folk, like to take their anger and rage to social media. Mind you; I don’t respond; I let my writing speak for itself. If I anger you, check yourself, seek help; these are just thoughts from one man with an opinion. I’m a free speech proponent and encourage you to share your ire and concern with my old man brain if you need to.
We ran our monthly sales meeting; we hit 120% of the goal, we are over 100% for the year, we are doing some unique marketing that allows for many more opportunities to find the pain, heal pain, and show love; if you don’t know, our gig, our work purpose, our mission in life. I am so proud of our sales, support, and quality control. Our glistening machine is humming along.
I met with Rich yesterday; a veteran sales rep referred to me by my friend Matt. We chatted for 30 minutes, a great man who can make a difference in the Indianapolis community. I referred him to five of my friends; that’s how my life works. People refer like-minded folks to me, chat, and attempt to help them with whatever their needs.
I took a 30-minute nap (yes, folks, I nap almost every day, I think it essential to recharge midday). I then ran a 30-minute Zoom with Hanni, a beautiful soul from Atlanta I met with speaking at a leadership forum. Her story is inspiring; she got very healthy, eating well, working out after a divorce. But when she had a doctor’s visit, the doctor said, you have to change; something is wrong. She found her nutrition and workouts were great, but her stress level was off the charts. She took some time, removed all stress from her life, and is now living her best life.
She said, “I judged a book by its cover.” I did not suspect you to be in the insurance industry; how the heck did that happen. I shared my story; she indicated I was like no other insurance person she had met before, and I shared that is my point. I don’t want to be like anyone else in my industry; I want to be myself since everyone else is taken (Wilde).
My Queen and I left the mountain house and drove to Sims Steakout to meet a new friend. I’ve been Zooming with Rich every Friday in a thought leaders group. My goal now that I’m back is to connect with each person on that call. Rich is a kind-hearted native of CO, a very successful man that now picks and chooses his work. His gig for the past couple of years has helped a unique firm that offers vinyl albums via online ordering. If you want to see an excellent business model, visit vinylmeplease.com. Rich is a marketing mind, so we spoke about some of our past more ridiculous marketing campaigns; he suggested I bag the insurance gig and move over to advertising. Maybe that is my next mountain?
We sat for 2 hours and just told stories; we now plan on hosting Rich and his wife at our home at one of our thought leader parties. Colorado is filled with extraordinary people with unique gifts, and they are open to sharing those gifts with anyone that will listen. Thank you, Rich, for the time; much appreciated.
Another busy day up here; I think we are not leaving choosing to spend our day in our new home. We are closing on our mountain home’s refi, allowing us to pay for this project. I encourage you to look at refinancing if you haven’t lately; rates are on the rise. ; the other money had been set aside, getting creative with our finances. Using some gains we did not expect, my Queen and I are savers.
Welp, no bullets in the blue sky today. Just kind relationship-building tips and tools to help others in their quest to build their best life. That is my job; that is my mission; I will work hard to improve the lives of those that cross my path; I am the most blessed man you will see today, and it’s time for me to share my gifts and bounty with others. Cheers, tomorrow we will talk about the Muppets.
