Monitoring the performance of suppliers in China has become an essential task for any company wishing to maintain a balanced business relationship with its Chinese suppliers. Mastering performance criteria and key metrics is essential to ensure the smooth running of the supply chain.

?? Lead time

This indicator represents the number of days between placing the order and completing production.?

Average Lead Time

Short lead time = efficiency of supplier's production process.


? On-time delivery

This is the number of late or early delivery days.?

On-Time Delivery

Negative number of days = early delivery, reflecting good logistics management and compliance with delivery deadlines.


? Non-conformity rate

This KPI measures the percentage of products that do not meet the specifications established in the order. These are therefore products that, although functional, do not meet your requirements. For example, a garment in the wrong color, or a machine with incorrect dimensions.?

Non-Conformity Rate

Low non-conformity rate = accuracy and reliability of the supplier.


?? Defect rate

This is the percentage of defective products out of the total number of products manufactured. A product is considered defective if it has a technical or functional failure that affects its normal use. For example, an electronic device that won't switch on, or a garment with a poorly sewn seam.?

Defect Rate

Low rate = good management of quality processes by the supplier, which can reduce your quality control costs.


?? Return rate

This KPI measures the percentage of products that encountered problems during transport or after use, out of the total number of products ordered.

Low return rate = products meet expectations well.
