Due to expansion the Saudi Railway Polytechnic is seeking to hire a track maintenance trainer to work within our Buraydah based Permanent Way team to support an expanding portfolio of works across the Kingdom.

The primary focus of this role is to undertake track maintenance training services for railway infrastructure projects. The role will also be required to enhance the team’s portfolio of skills and expertise.

You will be an accomplished team player who is passionate about contributing to the delivery of infrastructure training, working within a high-performing team to drive exceptional outcomes.

Job specification

Qualifications, and experience

At least 5 years’ experience working on track maintenance projects.

Proven experience as an instructor in both classroom and field training.

Strong technical knowledge in Railway Engineering, Railway Construction, and Safety.

Training qualification – Train the trainer?or equivalent

Assessor qualification – TAQA award or certificate in assessing (D32,33,34)

Be able to operate and teach small plant courses. Impact wrench, Robels or kangos, rail saw including abrasive wheels, stressing equipment.

Hold 053 - switch and 1054 - crossing inspections

Hold stressing qualification. Level 1 and 2, and 3?

Hold handback engineer qualification [raising and removing speed restrictions

Knowledge and activities

Must have a good knowledge and understanding of railway rules and regulations.??

Have a good working knowledge of railway maintenance and renewal methods, and be familiar with tools and equipment used during works.

Have a comprehensive knowledge of CWR, jointed track and working with switches and crossings, installation, inspection, and maintenance.

A good understanding of the inspection process and the reporting and action of faults.

Have a thorough knowledge of components, rails and bearers, ballast requirements and maintenance tolerances, track faults including geometry and rail faults and the process of handing the track back on completion of work to the desired speed.

Good knowledge of off track works, drainage, structures, fencing and clearances.

Good communication skills using hand signals, face to face, back to back radio, mobile phones, and the use of the phonetic alphabet.

Be able to design training courses to meet the client’s needs.?

Be able to deliver training to meet the criteria of the City and Guilds NVQ in railway maintenance.

To deliver training courses to all ages and academic levels from students to managers.
