Tracing the Lines —— My Journey Through Design and Discovery
It all began in the quiet corridors of my high school, where my love for design first took root. Graphic and interior design captivated me—each line, each curve, an invitation to create something beautiful, something functional. That fascination grew with me, leading to college and an unexpected opportunity at National Sign, a local company steeped in nearly a century of tradition. There, amidst the legacy of craftsmanship and history, I learned the art of attention to detail. Every sign and letter carried a story, and I realized that design wasn't just about aesthetics—it was about precision, care, and purpose.
After college, I wandered through freelance design, a path that unfolded like a blank canvas. I dabbled in print design, packaging, UI, VI, and CI design—each project teaching me something new, layering my understanding, and shaping the designer I was becoming. It felt like a journey with no defined destination, yet every step laid a solid foundation, one brick at a time.
Fate has a way of leading you to places you never expected, and for me, that was Venetian Yacht and Boat Ltd. It was a lucky twist that brought me back to product design, this time in a world I'd never imagined—luxury yachts. There was something almost poetic about the first project I worked on, the SANJ V-43, a 43-foot motor yacht. I was thrown into overseeing the entire development, from interiors to execution, which sparked a fire in me. The elegance of yacht design—the balance of functionality and luxury—became my new canvas. I knew then that I had found a new direction, one that would keep me moving forward.
By 2013, the entrepreneurial bug bit me, and I co-founded Bossa Yacht Style (BYS) in Seattle. It was my first venture into building something of my own. We weren't just designing yachts—we were building relationships, setting up shipyards in China, and managing dealerships. There were victories and setbacks, but each taught me resilience. BYS wasn't just a business—it was a lesson in perseverance, ambition, and the reality that not every dream unfolds as planned. The journey, though turbulent, became one of my most outstanding teachers.

This lesson carried me to my next chapter—Fiberdyne. 2015, I became a partner, expanding my horizons beyond yachts to the aerospace, marine, and automotive industries. Fiberdyne challenged me to innovate and push the boundaries of what was possible. We created patented solutions for mega yachts and worked with industry giants like Boeing and Tesla. It was exhilarating. I learned to weave cutting-edge technology with design, a blend of creativity and engineering that would forever shape my approach.
Then came 2020—a year of global shifts and personal evolution. I found myself in Shanghai, joining Calmthink, where I transitioned from yachts to soundproof office pods. This was a different design focused on ergonomics, comfort, and quiet. I worked alongside a team of visionaries, crafting spaces that looked beautiful and fostered productivity. It was a new challenge that again stretched my creativity and problem-solving skills.
Now, at Soundbox, I lead a dynamic team of innovators. We explore acoustic solutions, from soundproofing office spaces to transforming home entertainment systems and even diving into automotive acoustics. Sustainability is at the heart of what I do now—creating products that perform and respect the environment. The boundaries of what's possible expand, and I'm constantly excited by the potential ahead.
Yet, even as I reflect on this journey, I know it's far from over. Each step has been an unexpected twist, a new challenge, and a lesson in growth. And as I look toward the horizon, I remain curious, eager to see where the path leads next. I'm still chasing new goals, pushing design and innovation's limits. The road ahead is wide open, and I'm ready for whatever comes.
