Ms Horton has critical skills in corporate strategy, change management, economics, finance, and accounting. She also has lived and worked around the globe, in Australia, the USA, Canada, and the UK.

She has broad international experience as a management consultant with long-term clients in utilities (gas and electric), resources (mining, gas, renewables), healthcare (medical devices and biotechnology), manufacturing and retail (apparel and sports) and technology.

She has had significant involvement in public service activities in policy making and governance through executive roles at the Reserve Bank of Australia and non-executive roles at Australian Treasury, Tourism WA, Water Corporation and Western Australian Museum.

“I am delighted to join the IMDEX board and look forward to working together with the other Directors and management to guide the next phase of disciplined growth as we pursue a significant global market opportunity,” Ms Horton said.

She is a board member of ASX-listed companies IDP Education Ltd and the GPT Group, chair of both companies’ People and Remuneration Committees and is a member of GPT’s Sustainability & Risk Committee.

Before these appointments, Ms Horton was Chair of the People, Culture and Remuneration Committee, and a member of the Audit and Risk Committee for Nearmap Ltd.

Ms Horton is a Non-Executive Director for Campus Living Villages and Acting President and Member for the Takeovers Panel, a peer review body that regulates corporate control transactions.

Her most recent executive role was Winthrop Professor and Dean of the University of Western Australia Business School, where she led the Business School comprising around 5000 students and 500 staff.

She holds a Bachelor of Economics, with first-class honours, from the University of Western Australia, a Master of Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School of Business, is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a member of Chief Executive Women.

IMDEX Chairman Anthony Wooles said Ms Horton had established a strong corporate strategy pedigree.

“Her extensive board experience within the ASX environment and private sector, and her exposure to emerging technologies and international markets together with quantifiable finance and governance capabilities are an excellent strategic fit,” Mr Wooles said.

“These attributes complement the strong diversity and strengths of our existing board, and we are delighted to welcome Tracey to IMDEX.”

Ms Horton fills a vacancy following the retirement of Ivan Gustavino, who had been on the board since July 2015.
