TPP #8: How to master the concluding slides of your Pitch Deck

TPP #8: How to master the concluding slides of your Pitch Deck

For those who know pitch decks well, everything makes sense.?

But what about those that don’t?

Before building your pitch deck you need to understand how to do it and why to do it like this.

In today’s edition I want to simplify it for you, make it as obvious as possible so you have no doubt if your pitch deck is good.

So let’s talk about the logic of the last section of your pitch deck because these slides of your pitch deck can dramatically influence an investor's decision.?

These slides—comprising the roadmap, team, ask, and forecast—form a narrative arc that illustrates not only what your company intends to do but also how it plans to succeed and generate returns.

Here’s how these elements connect to form a compelling closing argument in your pitch.

1. The Roadmap

The roadmap slide is your chance to outline the planned timeline of what your business aims to achieve. It should not only set clear milestones and deadlines but also align with the strategic goals discussed throughout the presentation.?

This slide sets the stage by showing investors the journey ahead, marking key phases of development, product launches, market entry, and expected growth.

The Roadmap Slide

2. The Team

Following the roadmap, the team slide connects directly to the 'how' of your pitch. This is where you prove why your team is uniquely capable of turning the plan into reality.

Highlight key personnel, their roles, their past accomplishments, and how their expertise aligns with the needs of the project.?

This reassurance is crucial—it shows that the human resources align with the proposed timeline and tasks.

The Team Slide

3. The Ask

The ask slide is where you make it clear what you need to carry out your plan. Specify the amount of funding required, and crucially, detail how each dollar will be spent in relation to the roadmap.

Break it down into operational costs, marketing, R&D, etc. This transparency helps build trust and shows meticulous planning.

The Ask Slide

4. The Forecast: Visualizing Success

An often underrated but highly impactful slide is the forecast. This should come after the ask and provide a clear financial projection that quantifies the expected growth in revenue, profit margins, and market share as a result of the investment.?

Use this slide to paint a picture of success, backed by data, showing how the investment will lead to tangible gains.

The Forecast Slide

In wrapping up your pitch, reiterate the cohesion between these slides.?

Emphasize that your roadmap is not just a timeline but a sequence of strategic steps, your team is not just qualified but perfectly suited for this specific journey, your financial ask is not just a number but a well-calculated budget to maximize potential, and your forecast isn't just optimistic but realistically achievable based on solid assumptions.?

Invite your investors to join in realizing this vision, turning potential into success.
