Toyota Motor Corporation
It that time again that I am talking about another automaker which has really grown to a point where it has become one of the largest automakers in the world. In a previous article from a couple of weeks ago I talked about General Motors and the Ford Motor Company in two articles and what they have done to grow their companies. Ford and GM are both American automakers and I thought that it was the end of me talking about cars. But there is one automaker which has caught my attention and I will talk about it now.
That company is Toyota Motor Corporation, which is one of Japan's largest car companies within that country and one of the largest ones in the world with billions of dollars in revenue and I will do all I can to talk about its history from my observations and what it has done to get to this point since I do remember when I was younger that they made a lot of small compact cars for any customers looking for some money saving alternatives to the bigger American models they were selling at the time.
But they grew bigger and bigger due to the innovations they were making regarding their models in order to compete with the likes of GM, Ford and Chrysler since these automakers were eating up most of the auto market. So they got to work and remade some of their models like the Corolla and Camry at that time. These models sold very well and to this day are still selling in the numbers. So that was good for them at this point but then began experimenting with other models.
So they began growing by making or focusing on their trucks and began making their Tacoma and Tundra trucks and these models are selling to this day for the company. Then they focused on the SUV and CUV markets by making the 4Runner SUV, Sequoia and the Land Cruiser, which is their longest selling branded SUV that I haven't seen much lately since they have gotten very expensive. They also have other CUVs that are too numerous to describe and write in here.

They began to make other brand names like Scion and Lexus. The Scion, being the brand name which focused on smaller cars and the Lexus brand, which focused on more expensive and luxurious models in order to really compete with the likes of Mercedes Benz, Land Rover, Jaguar, BMW and Audi to say the least. The Scion was either discontinued or scrapped since that brand wasn't selling while the kept the Lexus brand and it has paid off for them in the long run. Lexus has been a gamer changer for Toyota as of late.
Lexus has sold a lot of cars as of late and they started off with their LS large sedan. Then they began making medium and smaller cars for customers still wanting luxury items but wanting to pay less for them and it worked for a while but then customers wanted to buy SUVs and then Lexus went in there and created SUVs for their customers and the rest I can say is history. They have really taken over the luxury SUV and CUV markets and have outsold most brands from Mercedes Benz, BMW and other luxury car makers.
And I will end this article with those thoughts.
