Townish Update - September 2024

October is here, and so many new things are happening! ???We hope you enjoy this update and forward it to someone who will enjoy it as well!

??? Product Updates:

The bad news: We're still working on our new website. The good news: It will be LIVE in October! Here’s what you’ll be able to do:

• Customers can explore various services for team gatherings, with filters for budget, duration, team size, and more.
• They’ll be able to message vendors and book events directly.
• Vendors can add or edit listings to showcase what they have to offer!

A glimpse of the new website…

Our new platform will truly make us the go-to destination for events and offsites—offering accommodation, venues, team-building activities, speakers, workshops, and more. This is the start of a new era!

?? New Partnerships:

In addition to our exciting product launch, we have new partnerships, which will also be live on our website soon.

We’ve started working with Care/Of, an amazing studio for team gatherings and events. We had our first event there this week - looks cool, right?

We’re also collaborating with Genia Klaiman, a breath coach and yoga instructor, on a beautiful land 45 minutes north of Toronto. It’s a perfect retreat spot.

And we have some more partnerships cooking, which you’ll be able to see on our website real soon!

?? New Bookmarks!

Harvard Business Review recently focused on overwork and workaholism. They explored both the employer’s and employee’s perspectives, examining how society can heal from overwork, which often leads to mental and physical challenges, burnout, and lower efficiency. On the employee side, they featured confessions from 1000 workaholics. On the employer side, they discussed how companies can end a culture of overwork and help employees live fuller lives while improving productivity (which benefits the company too).

Everyone’s talking about Amazon's new RTO policy. But what are the employees thinking, and how are they planning to respond? The new policy is sure to backfire. In all surveys conducted since the announcement (even though the policy hasn’t taken effect yet), it seems most Amazon employees are now on the hunt for new jobs…maybe it’s just a negotiation play?
