Towel Boudoir

Strategic Thinking & Optimism are my Superpowers
My first boudoir photoshoot was in the early stages of my modeling career. I was in my mid-forties. I didn’t really know what to expect from the shoot, but I did know I wanted to feel beautiful inside and out once the pictures were edited (but not photoshopped). I pride myself on being a motivator, influencer and body positive advocate, so the importance of posing for boudoir reinforces my belief that every body is beautiful.
I recently collaborated with educator and photographer Tracy Eshleman-Properzi. She envisioned a towel boudoir session where the intrigue of a terry bathrobe and towel would leave anyone feeling intimate, sensual, and confident.
As a model, intimacy comes from a trusting relationship with the photographer, and any other individuals involved in making the shoot a success: Hair and makeup artists, stylists, assistants, etc. Sensuality comes from your enjoyment experienced during the shoot, and your expression, which translates through the lens of the camera. Confidence comes from a feeling of self-assurance and the belief that you are worthy of the appreciation of your own abilities or qualities.
Behind-the-scenes photos showcase the work and capture what’s happening during a photoshoot. Oftentimes I use behind-the-scenes photos to critique myself, seeking opportunity to learn and improve my posing techniques. Other times, I use behind-the-scenes photos to showcase the photographer, usually including a note of thanks and appreciation or professional review on their social media platform alongside the photo.
Boudoir can be for everyone. If it’s something you’ve always wanted to do, do your homework. Seek referrals, meet the photographer, know your boundaries, embrace your confidence, and breathe.
If feeling sensual involves posing for a boudoir photoshoot, embrace your confidence, and breathe. The intimacy and impact of the shoot is very much in your control without sacrificing even a smidgen of your integrity or self-confidence. Feeling sensual should never feel more satisfying.
Creatively,
