An April 1st warming hello to all of you luminous souls who’ve kindly joined this healing-centred space. I made some changes to this newsletter, as it will be bi-monthly from now on as my schedule for this spring is extremely busy.
My intention is to support you women leaders with practical, evidence-based healing routines and practices while sharing some of my journey in the professional realm. Everything here is curated to guide you, whenever in troubled waters of just in need for quick fixes to make it through the week.
Women leaders are conscious breathers
You are here because you breathe. You read this because you breathe. You smile because you breathe. You take space because you breathe. And you are because you breathe. This intangible, almost magical function of our bodies is our gateway to this world. From the first inhalation to our last exhalation, life is a collection of precious breaths. But we’re living a hectic time with an attention span lower than 2 seconds and we often forget to inhale-exhale properly. Breath is the perfect, free tool to regulate our nervous system, reduce inflammation and balance our social triggers and reactions. Just as you, I need to practice this breathing thing so that my body is healthy and centred.
Here is a short practice?I do almost every morning (or evening before going to bed): sit in a comfortable seat so that your spine is vertical and straight. Try to get away from your laptop or phone and noise. Close gently your eyes and feel your hands, put one on the belly (the centre of life) and the other one on the heart (the centre of health). Now find your breath, breathe normally for a couple of minutes. Then prolong your inhale and exhale so that you breathe in for 4-5 seconds and breathe out for 6-7 seconds. Stick with it for a couple of minutes. Return to your normal breath, open your eyes softly and thank your body for being the miracle that she is. Smile. Nervous system (and vagus nerve) regulated and ready to face the day. It’s simple, right?
How I make coffee work for my health
Don’t want to be abrupt all of a sudden, but did you know that coffee beans are among the most toxic crops in the world? Most plantations are sprinkled with some of the most dangerous pesticides. These get into the beans and then straight into your coffee cup, even though some of it is distilled during the roasting process. And do you know which part of your body takes in those pesticides: your kidneys, the only organs that show health problems only 10 years after starting to degrade. So…I am not saying to cut coffee out, but to be aware of some of these things that really impact your health in the long run. Let’s make our decisions from an aware place. Coffee is of course excellent for productivity enhancement and digestion (it is even a great?plant?for the microbiome) if it’s consumed smart. But it has to have a limited framework in order to not become toxic.
How I transformed my relation with coffee, maybe it can inspire your own journey:

How I reinvent for me and others the relationship with work
Some time ago, I started collaborating with an up and coming future-of-work start-up. Remote and hybrid and all sorts of future-of-work models are one of my passions as former manager and leader of teams. And I have the chance to build this from the product perspective now. Work Retreat is the only 100% working + living solution for remote and hybrid teams of professionals in Romania. As a passionate communication strategist I delved deep into creating its universe, positioning, storyline and visual assets. This was (and still is) a one-of-a-kind product to rebalance how we work in teams. Work Retreat invites all companies and teams in search for recon nection and productive work nearby beautiful natural areas. Our story is different, it supports a more healthy and conscious way to approach team-work.
I am sharing with you the video we made to tell our story. My creative contribution regarded concept and script, copywriting the narrative and yes, acting in it :). This is how we do it in start-ups, we build it brick by brick, step by step.
This brings me to a news I am so excited to share now. This April I will be joining the team of #RunningRemote, the biggest remote and hybrid models conference as part of the staff. Will be working with the organisers directly while meeting the most important voices in building a location-free world of work. Will definitely share with you the findings in early May.
