Towards Data!

Towards Data!

Welcome to my first blog on my website!

Thank you for taking some time to read about my journey towards Data and beyond..

Let us get right to it - >

I come from a finance background and my curiosity started when I took a three-month course in C programming at NIIT during high school in 2010 (for the newbies who do not know, please google it!)

Even though I did not like writing those long C classes & objects, my interest in programming was piqued, but I did not actively pursue C programming after that, as my high school curriculum was focused on finance, and I went on to complete my bachelor's degree with honours in finance from Delhi University. Although I knew that data is everywhere, the new oil, you know what I am talking about, I focused on deepening my understanding of finance and how companies handle their finances (with data (numbers) of course). I then enrolled in a PGDM degree program in financial and business analysis (which sparked my interest in data), where I worked on projects for companies and did research. I also decided to do an additional paid student exchange to TH K?ln, Cologne, Germany, where I researched topics of International Business Management and fell in love with language learning too.

My native languages are English and Hindi, I speak French, German, a little Italian, some Chinese (Mandarin) and a little Spanish, apart from some Indian languages.

After working in the family business, I started my career at EY, where I was lucky enough to be part of a team that was in direct contact with Lead Audit Partners from all over the world. This gave me the impetus to get involved with other projects and learn internationally. I decided to enrol in the MSC program in France, but then the whole lockdown thing happened and I joined a New York based startup called Better.com, where I worked with underwriters for their pre-approval needs and developed my curiosity about data (like the credit profile & worthiness of high-profile borrowers)

After travel restrictions were lifted for my country to relocate to France, I started my international MSC in International Business Management where I had the opportunity to learn and develop my skills for different foreign markets and strategies to build and run successful businesses there. While working with clients and projects for the MSC, I enjoyed researching and exploring insights from data on specific countries and their market competitors and developing strategies for clients and projects within the MSC. Shortly after, I joined the student organization INNOVIS VC where I led the Paris Hub as Head of Ventures for due diligence and research on emerging unicorns for the partners of EU VC and gained a lot of understanding of VC and what makes a normal startup a unicorn, and I started my data journey through self-research and guided courses from various organizations.

On a side note, some of my hobbies or my unused time eaters ( not using the other word!) are collecting rare electronics and writing screenplays. I have written 5 complete screenplays for movies. I am not saying I want to be the next great screenwriter, but who knows?

Since I like to explore new things and have a childlike curiosity about data, I have set my life to A/B testing with everything, so we will see what comes of it. And now here I am with this portfolio, exploring new technologies doing research for AGI research for Fintech), every day to make the Earth more autonomous through data...
