Recovery
Sometimes doing nothing is quite productive.
Recovery
We spent an exhilarating and exhausting January together on the Mediterranean. Each day wrought with activities. Training, studies, walks along the sea, cultural events and city tours. To say that our experience tested all of us physically and emotionally would be an understatement. We lived together, dined together, competed and cooperated. Players, coaches, teachers and chaperones. ?
Pure development. No politics. No power struggles. ?
And now? ?
There are moments in life when life arrives. When one must take a break. When one must tend to oneself as they tend to their family. When one must follow the protocols to sustain us. To nourish ourselves so that we may nourish others. ?
We may go, go, go as long as we stop, stop, stop. ?
To players: May you give your best knowing that your best is always good enough. And then may you laugh along the walk home. ?
To coaches – May you give of yourself knowing that your work matters. And then may you sing off tune just for the frivolity afforded and relationships made doing so. ?
Recovery. ?
The journey toward our better selves depends upon it.
