Road Attitude

“Purple Rain. Purple Rain.”?

There’s something about returning to your home country. It seems that the same songs that were on the radio when you left are still playing upon return.??

My Los Angeles airport shuttle driver shared the moment as he offered me the van microphone for a bit of karaoke challenge.??

“If I start to sing, you will throw me off the van immediately and with just cause,” I told him.??

So we let Prince sing as we reminisced during the brief ride to the hotel.??

My son commented after the ride about the amazing attitude of this man working long shifts driving tired tourists in circles.??

“That must be a hard job, but he was so positive,” Jordan remarked.??

Road attitude.??

A positive attitude. An engaging personality. A laugh.??

This moment will frame our US tour. We are on the road. And if we adopt an ‘on the road attitude’ all will be well. Each day will afford us a new opportunity – to learn, to laugh, to explore. Father and sons. A rental car, college campuses, coast to coast.??

So it is within sports. An on the road tournament, match, conference championship. A bit beyond our comfort zone, but in the learning zone. It’s all about our attitude and our approach to the unknown.??
