Tourist arrivals in Cyprus have exceeded all expectations for the first 6 months of 2017, breaking all the records of the previous years. Based on the official figures published by the Statistical Service of Cyprus, an increase of 17% in the number of tourists and an increase of 25% in the income was observed, proving that the island is an ideal place for holidays in the sun

The countries that have the utmost preference for Cyprus are the United Kingdom and Russia. From figures published in May 2017, tourist arrivals from the UK have increased by 19.5% in May 2017 in comparison to May 2016. Tourists from Russia who preferred Cyprus as their holiday destination, documented an 0.3% increase, while tourist markets such as Germany and Israel recorded a 54.9% and 92.9% increase respectively for May 2017, showing that Cyprus is becoming very popular in an increasing amount of markets.

It is important to note that the tourist arrivals for May 2017 were the highest ever recorded in Cyprus for the specific month.
