Tour, opportunities, wooden & A FREEBIE

Working in voiceover is a bit like going on tour...
...without having to get in a stinky van with stinky people. Sorry Matt Selfe .
(This is how I was forced to travel, hanging out of the window to get my fresh air. That's our old Ford Transit which we called Jean Claude Band Van. Genius.)
Anyway... one day I'll be voicing e-learning in Poland, the next radio ads in England, then off to Romania for some promos and finally over to USA for a bit of meditation. It's an international road-trip right from the (dis)comfort of my battered old gaming chair.
It wouldn't work in real life. I'm afraid of flying.
NOT FUN FACT: I once had an aeroplane turn round on the runway to let me off because FREAKING OUT. I've never had so many evil looks.
Job of the month
The world of voiceover has opened up a lot of opportunities for me. Like that one time I got invited to a networking event and said no. And that other time I got asked to a different networking event and didn't even reply. And then there was the time I... well, let's just leave it there.
BUT...
I say yes to some stuff.
I say yes to podcast editing.
I also say yes to demo reel production.
And I've done a lot of that this past month which has been awesome.
I love the editing part of what I do so to be asked to edit and produce audio for others is a joy.
The job of the month then is editing two IVR reels for a couple of RichCraft Voiceover Coaching, Reels & More students. Lovely stuff.
Behind the scenes
When I'm not opening my mouth to make money, I'm spending that money on improving myself or my tools.
After getting some SOUND advice (lol punz) from Henry Willard , I had a bit of an upgrade to my studio. The walls went from dirty white with bits of blue-tac stuck all over them to a rather fetching ash coloured wood (see pretty picture above). It's actual wood too. Not just pretend.
I love it. It looks splendid and helps with the room acoustics too. Double value.
FREE STUFF YEA!
I've been told that you have to provide value in newsletters. And apparently being hilarious isn't enough. Dammit.
So this month I'm giving every single person in the world a free business telephone message to cover them for the bank holiday.
I won't go into why professionally recorded answer messages RECORDED BY AN AWARD WINNING VOICEOVER ARTIST are important. Just know that they are.

Bye then
That's all for now. I'm leaving Linkedin forever.
I'm not. It'll just be 'til about 10 o'clock.
If you'd like to talk to me about talking for you, or have a talk about talking for a living, let's talk.
Creating video content for your business that makes you money.
