Tough Times Forge Greatness

Empowering coaches, student-athletes and parents to live with generosity, act with integrity, live victoriously and pursue excellence
This past Thursday night, Notre Dame's victory over Penn State resonated deeply with me. Coach Marcus Freeman's post-game words, "It's during those toughest times that you make the major gains", captured the reality of our leadership journey.
We all face them—losing streaks, setbacks, and guiding people through personal challenges. These aren't setbacks but environments where true character is cultivated.
Just as Romans 5:3-4 reminds us, "We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation." Adversity isn't a curse, but an opportunity for growth.
This week, let's embrace those challenges:
Even in the toughest times, God is with us. He uses these challenges to refine and equip us to be the best leaders we can be.
