That Totally Sucks

What's the Worst They Could Say?

Normally I try not to cross the streams between work and band. Separation of church and state, you know??

But 2022 was big for my band, and well, here we are, posting about my band on LinkedIn.

Does it come with a plaque?

Recently reunited, this summer Dynasty Four set out to prove that what is dead may never die with Revivals : our first new music since 2015.

And it worked!

Since June we've been added to more than 60 playlists, played on radio stations across Canada, the US, Brazil, the UK, Europe, Australia, and Asia, received glowing reviews from some great publications, nominated for an online radio award , and are edging on 200,000 streams on Spotify.

We've been blown away by such an amazing response, and humbled by all the glowing feedback. With each new article or milestone I'm filled with pride and relief to have delivered.

Because it wasn't always this way. Quite the opposite, in fact. Have you ever read the word sucks in a music review? I have.

What's the worst thing anyone has ever said about your work? And what then? How do you turn critique into action?

From the worst review you've ever read to the best year my band ever had: read That Totally Sucks on Medium.
