Some Popular Misplaced Labels we Espouse liberally !

Five odd phrases in the Tech world that everyone uses freely. Why do we always gravitate towards absurdity instead of logical practicality? Often, I think that some terms are just adopted because they sound cool and most of us tend to be lazy to question the correctness of the label.

1. Private Cloud - I ask people if they have a Cloud in their backyard that only rains on their lawn? How can a Cloud be Private?

2. Zero Trust Security - Wow! No trust for nobody? I doubt even our POTUS can follow this rule completely.

3. Full Stack Developer - Another concerning trend! What depth of the stack components needed? Someone who Knows everything and can do anything?

4. Microservices - Another meaningless term! There are no "micro" anything. Almost all the software applications are thick and broad based. And organizations are now making it worse trying to apply Micro rules to SOA.

5. No-SQL - Sounds a bit absurd! All No-SQL functionality has been available in so called SQL and Relational databases forever ! And ... All so called No-SQL databases offer a SQL - like query. I suspect that startups love to look different from the legacy vendors. But when it comes to real projects at the Grown-Ups Table, only Legacy databases win, all the time!
