TOTAL DOORS- NXT GEN COMPOSITE DOORS

Much of the fanfare around Distinction Doors’ nxt-gen range of composite doors has focused on the benefits for fabricators and installers. But as Chantel Roach, Distinction’s Sales and Marketing Director, explains, the homeowner benefits are equally as industry-defining.

It’s easy to see why composite doors are consumers’ most popular choice of entrance door: they combine all the elegance and beauty of a timber door with all the modern day advantages of thermal efficiency, security, ease of maintenance and durability. So when we started to develop nxt-gen, our aims for the consumer were simple: take everything that’s good about our composite door at the moment and bring it to the next level.

And that’s exactly what you get. The first thing that you – and your customers – will notice about a nxt-gen door is the aesthetics. The much-admired woodgrain skin is at the heart of the beauty, but it’s also only the beginning. The glazing system is inverted, which provides a perfect balance with the depression mouldings and creates a symmetry that has never been seen before on a composite door.

There is a choice of six of the most popular designs (Esteem, Eclat, Eclat Arch, Elegance, Classical and Classical Half Glazed). Consumers can choose glass designs from the lauded Distinction Glass range and the colour range includes seven pre-pigmented standard colours, including Anthracite Grey and Chartwell, which reflects modern design trends, plus a wealth of other colours courtesy of our in-house paint plant.

The practicalities are second to none too. When part of an approved doorset, the door leaf and glazing system have a proven ability to achieve Document Q compliance and PAS24:2016, industry’s enhanced security standard and a pre-requisite in attaining certification to Secured by Design, the police initiative to protect against unlawful intrusion. It delivers the same exceptional thermal efficiency as our signature composite door – it is more than 17% more efficient than either a 48mm solid timber core door or a 44mm traditional timber panelled door. It has a superb ability to keep outside noise at bay because it achieves a weighted noise reduction of 31 decibels. The high impact GRP skin will maintain its pristine appearance in the face of everyday knocks and scratches while the water resistant polymer composite rails keep weather at bay and help keep the door looking good for longer, features that are reflected in the 10 year surface warranty and the 25 year structural warranty.

All these advantages are perfectly showcased in the retail literature to accompany nxt-gen and support installers as they sell the range to homeowners. The centrepiece is a high quality, 64-page brochure with a contemporary look and feel that features all nxt-gen and signature doors plus the Distinction Glass range. Featuring accurate RAL/BS colour chips, beautiful imagery and compelling text, it shows customers the quality and technical excellence that a Distinction GRP composite door offers.

Our nxt-gen range demonstrates innovation in action, which is why it is being hailed as a ground-breaking development in the sector.
